There are a lot of homeless outreach ministries. However, God is Greater Homeless Outreach Ministry is unique because we serve the homeless population where they are.
We minister the word of God to the homeless people in obedience to the scriputure Matthew 25:35-40
(35) For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
(36) Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
(37) Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
(38) When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
(39) Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
(40) And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
and we provide food, cloth, shoes, distribute toiletries (survival kits), back packs, winter holiday kits (blankets and stuffed animals) and provide referral services. We are planning to open an
24 hr emergency shelter soon. Our total staff population is three directors, churches, volunteers, and community helpers. God Is Greater Homeless Outreach Ministry was founded by Sheila Hodges in

Do you know if you should die today that you will wake up in eternal life?  If not, then chose today Life or Death.  You may say “How will I do that?”  It is simple. If you chose Death, it is to be eternally separated from Jesus Christ.  But if you chose Life, then you will have eternal life with Jesus Christ.

This is what you must do today:

Pray this prayer:  Jesus,  I accept you as Lord and savior over my life.  Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and separated from you.  But I believe you are the Son of God and that you died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead.  So,  that I may have eternal life.  Jesus come into my life, forgive my sins, save me and take control of my life.  I repent of my sins and now place my trust in you for my salvation.  I accept the gift of eternal life.  In Jesus name, Amen.

After this prayer, you will never be the same from this point forward!!!

Scripture References:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me.

Roman 10:9 Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.

God Is Greater Homeless Outreach Ministry

God is Greater Homeless Outreach Ministry began with an idea (dream or vision) while reading the Miami Herald “Tropic”  on July 16, 1989.  Starting at that point and continuing to now I’ve been building this ministry by faith.  I took grant writing classes.  I have taken small business classes and workshops.  I named the ministry God is Greater based on the scripture I John 3:20-22 that was written on a prayer card and I Incorporated it as an non-profit organization on 8/4/2008.  I wrote my first grant in 2010.  I am on the HUD’s Title V Federal Surplus Property Program list to receive suitable property for the homeless.  I am now looking for a permanent location for this ministry as a 24hr Homeless Shelter.   I am a church member at Yahovah Eloheem Ministries regularly.  I’ve been in attendance since 2001.  I am a Pastor and a Missions Coordinator.  I am not a paid staff member.  It is my service to my church.  Also, I work with other churches and volunteer to serve the homeless people.

God is Greater Homeless Ministry was founded upon Matthew 25:31-46.  In summary, Matthew 25:44-46.  Then they will also answer Jesus, saying Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, naked, or sick, or in prision, and did not minister to you? Then He shall answer them saying Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life.

The Homeless Ministry of God is Greater exist to bring the life changing message of Jesus to the homeless people of Miami in both Word and deed and to help bring as many people as possible out of homelessness.

What we do?

Every Sunday evening we bring the message of the Gospel to the homeless in three ways.  First, when volunteers go to different locations in Miami, FL  to feed the homeless a short devotional service and salvation tracks are always given and the Gospel is clearly presented to those who are present.  Second, we show them how the Love of Christ compels us to love our neighbor by providing them with a meal.  Finally, we encourage those with whom we come in contact with to use the resources available to them to get out of homelessness.

Who we serve?

The women and men that the Homeless Ministry feeds fall into two main categories.  Some are the “Working Poor” and the others are those who refuse to go to the Homeless Assistance Centers for help.

Our Vision:

God is Greater’s vision has always been that the Homeless Ministry will be a church and a shelter to share God’s message and demonstrate it by servicing with Love, basic needs, personal needs, etc.  Also, that the homeless people will use the Word of God, our good deeds and encouragement, the Homeless Center’s resources and other resources available to them to get out of homelessness and into a more stable lifestyle.
